The Eugene Reimer Awards Presentation is an annual event hosted by
BC Disability Sports. This prestigious award recognizes a British
Columbian who has made an outstanding contribution in the field of
sport, recreation or physical education for persons with a
disability. In 2000, the award was named in honour of Eugene
Reimer, who was also presented with the inaugural award for his
outstanding accomplishments as a pioneer in competitive sports.
The award itself, entitled
EAGLE EMERGING,
was carved and donated
specially for this event by internally renowned Haida artists,
ROBERT
& BEN DAVIDSON
. This
beautiful piece of artwork is on permanent display in the B.C. Sports Hall Of Fame &
Museum in conjunction with memorabilia from Eugene Reimer's accomplishments in sports.
